Overview:

Charterhouse Medical are looking for a Locum Senior Medical Officer for the following opportunity:

Locum Senior Medical Officer (GP/ED) Ceduna Hospital, SA.

Requirements: Shared GP roster, to include mixture of General Practice and Hospital On call

Pay Rate: $2,640 per day.

Date Range:   Tues 13 June until Fri 23 June

Clinic Hours: 0900 – 1700 (1 hour lunch break)

On call: Approx 2 days on call per week – Weekend on call required.

Travel/Accommodation: flights, car and accommodation provided. ((Fly from Adel - Ceduna on Mon 12th June)

When on call, doctors are based in ED (From approx. 0800 – 1700) – Present to hospital as required after hours.

SAVES is utilised by nursing staff between 7pm-7am for categories 3,4 & 5.

(SAVES = South Australia Virtual Emergency Services)

The Ceduna Hospital has 15 acute overnight beds, four day only beds, two dialysis chairs and 38 beds for people requiring high and low level aged care.

The Medical Practice consists of a Resident GP Obstetrician, Resident GP Anaesthetist and 2 GP/ED locums – All providing services to the District Hospital.

Location:

Ceduna is the only township of significance on the eastern side of the Great Australian Bight.  It is an attractive town, with the nearby port of Thevenard, is located on Murat Bay which in turn is part of the larger Denial Bay. A vibrant multicultural community with a significant Aboriginal population, it is the service centre for a rural area known for its agriculture (predominantly grain and sheep), salt and gypsum mining and seafood - particularly oysters. Ceduna is set amidst a patchwork of grain farms, natural bush and rugged rocky bays, secluded white sandy beaches and wilderness.

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this position, applicant must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA & Current ASL2 (or equivalent - “REST/ RESP”).
