Job description
• Modern, well-equipped hospital with excellent facilities
• Supportive, friendly team with strong on-site clinical backup
• Fantastic locum amenities and a great lifestyle/social scene in the surrounding area
Karratha Health Campus is seeking GP/ED locums for a range of night and day blocks across 2026. Senior Registrars are considered for night shifts.
Rate: $2,300–$2,700 per shift (depending on level/experience)
Location: Karratha, WA
Role: GP/ED (Emergency Department)
Who we’re looking for:
• FACRRM / FRACGP / VR GP with recent ED experience, or GP/ED SMO
• Senior Registrars considered for night blocks
• Current AHPRA registration
• Current ALS (and relevant emergency credentials as required)
Work/life in Karratha is the real selling point:
• You can actually switch off after shift. Karratha is a genuine outdoor town: quick access to beaches and coastline, plus loads of easy “post-shift” options that don’t require a big plan. It’s a very different feel to metro locums where you finish and sit in traffic.
• Coast + water activities on your doorstep. Dampier is about 20 km from Karratha and is the gateway to the Dampier Archipelago—a big drawcard for boating/fishing/diving/snorkelling/swimming and generally being on the water.
• Weekends feel like a mini-holiday. Karratha is positioned as a base to explore standout Pilbara spots like Hearson’s Cove, Burrup Peninsula and the port town of Dampier, plus popular fishing/camping areas nearby.
• Easy in, easy out for blocks. There are direct flights between Karratha and Perth taking roughly 1h55, which makes it practical to do a block without it eating your entire month.
