The Base Hospital consists of (221 beds), (sub-acute care - 70 beds) and Psychiatric Services (67 beds). This Health Service is a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools. Senior staff are strongly committed to teaching and the professional development of Interns, HMOs and Registrars.
Duties
Responsible for the day to day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital. Provide after-hours emergency cover at the hospital as determined by the Medical Staffing Unit.
The HMO positions are in the PGY2+ General rotations stream. Successful applicants will complete four 13 week rotations from a mix of the following terms: Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, O&G, Relieving, Geriatrics/Palliative Care, Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Surgical (Nights) and Medical (Nights).
Job Requirements (THESE ARE A MUST)
-General or unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia (this is a must)
-No career caps in CV
- Ideally have minimum 12 months’ Australian or UK experience
-Eligibility to live and work in Australia (preference is to have PR)
-Registration with AHPRA is essential to working in Australia as doctor
