The Position:

The Consultant Psychiatrist is responsible for the mental health assessment, treatment and management of patients with mental health illness in the area. This includes the provision of service to their families and carers. You will work as a clinician within a multidisciplinary team environment and work closely with other agencies to promote close community partnerships.

The Consultant Psychiatrist leads the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist mental health services to patients. In this role, you will promote patient safety and quality of care. You will provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for Doctors in Training, medical officers and other health workers.

Requirements:

• Hold AHPRA specialist registration Psychiatry (Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists)

• Candidates who hold the UK CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) or from a Competent Authority country will also be considered.
