General Practitioners Required for Infection Control Locum in the NT

Job description

• An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced FRACGP or ACRRM trained consultant to provide quarantine and isolation medical services to the residence of Quarantine in the NT. Full Induction and Training Provided

• $2,000 to $2,500 per day dependent on level of experience

• 20.03.2022 – 16.04.2022

• Free Travel, Hire care and Accommodation

The Role

The role focuses on managing health issues on site as much as possible to avoid unnecessary transfer into the acute care system in Darwin and includes:

Managing asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic COVID-19 positive residents in a dedicated red zone, liaising with the designated team about their ongoing management and planning and assessment of exit criteria parameters.

Providing telephone support from home to senior nursing staff on site after hours and when necessary.

Mandatory site induction and training in PPE and infection control processes occurs for all new employees and is ongoing.

All staff working in the quarantine and isolation zones must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and must undergo COVID-19 testing as proscribed by the NT Chief Health Officer Direction – currently daily saliva PCR and weekly throat/nose PCR testing.

Located just 25minutes from Darwin City centre the capital of Australia's Northern Territory and a former frontier outpost. The gateway to the wonderous Kakadu and Lichfield National Park. Home to the famous Mindil Beach sunset markets and its popular waterfront area has several beaches and green areas like Bicentennial Park. Also near the water is the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, displaying Southeast Asian and Pacific art, plus a pearling lugger and other seafaring vessels.
