The Facility:
The hospital is as an acute care facility boasting 200+ beds, catering to approximately 25,000+ patients annually. Its array of services includes emergency care, medical, surgical, and orthopaedic treatments. Equipped with an Intensive Care Unit comprising High Dependency and Coronary Care beds, it also delivers top-notch Emergency Department services. Additionally, the hospital houses a thriving Obstetric Unit and extends its care to children under 16 years old.
This position is eligible for up to $10,000 in incentives under the Rural Health Workforce Incentives Scheme for Staff Specialists.

  1. Specialist Registration with AHPRA as a Fellow of ANZCA (FANZCA)
  2. IMG’s eligible via the Competent Authority Pathway (training in the UK, USA, NZ, Canada or Ireland) 
  3. SIMG’s assessed by ANZCA College as comparable (doctors currently interviewing with ANZCA may express their interest) 
  4. Doctors that will soon hold Fellowship with ANZCA in the next 6 months.  

The Position:
The Hospital’s Anaesthetic Department have new opportunities available for Consultants / Staff Specialists) to join their dynamic team. 
The facility are seeking suitable medical practitioners who are interested in supporting the development of anaesthetic services,  develop anaesthesia research within the department and Anaesthetists who are experienced with Paediatric cases. 

  • 5 theatres
  • Busy orthopaedic department including paediatrics, preference for applicants to have experience in paediatric anaesthetic skills
  • ICU and Paediatric NICU – Anaesthetists support the team with airway support
  • Varied case mix
  • Current team of 12 Anaesthetists, 4-6 Registrar + junior support
  • On Call is likely 1:7
  • Teaching ability – the role will  teach both undergraduate and post graduate students and other staff members of the hospital
