The Position:

This is an incredible opportunity for a full time, permanent and experienced Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist to join the busy, dynamic team at one of Australia’s leading teaching tertiary hospitals.   

 

As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide emergency medical services to patients, as well as provide leadership to the medical members of the team, promote quality and safety, provide training, supervision and education for doctors in training and other health workers in collaboration with other consultants and the Head of Department. 

 

This hospital is accredited for ACEM training.

The Facility:

The 550 bed tertiary hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, employing over 3000 people.   It is accredited with ANZCA for 36 months and works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.  This means it constantly attracts great junior support. 

 

The hospital provides specialist services to a population of around 250,000 people and is the referral hospital for the region.  These include obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry, urology and oncology and many other specialty areas.

Requirements:

1.            Fellowship or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) 

2.            Have experience working as an Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist
