The Acute Psychiatric unit provides inpatient Mental Health Services 7 days a week for people in the WACHS South West region.

Duties

• Leads the provision of specialist consumer centred medical care to inpatients.
• Responsible for ensuring patients are involved in decision making regarding their care.
• Authorises and supports registrar/s in conducting clinical review of all inpatients daily and to facilitate appropriate early discharges and is generally available for discussion by phone to assist registrars when necessary.
• Actively participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), and actively promotes MDT working within the service.
• Participation in the after-hours and weekend on call roster as rostered.
