Job description
The Division of Surgery and Oral Health is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatients surgical services and prevention and treatment dental health programs for children, targeted youth and adults of the surrounding region.
The Division includes Surgical Bookings and Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Ophthalmology, Operating Theatres, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit and Admissions / Extended Day Surgery Unit, specialist surgical ward areas, medical and nursing outpatient services, Shock Trauma Service, Trauma and Orthopaedic Research Unit and the Dental Health Program.
The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management has a strong focus on education and offers a comprehensive rotational training scheme in anaesthesia and pain management.
The ideal candidate would need to:
- Provide specialist anaesthetic services and Contribute to and participate in unit management, clinical audit procedures and quality improvement
- Ensure high standards of medical record keeping for patients of the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management including completion of casemix reports if appropriate.
- Develop and maintain liaison with other centres, providers and professionals within and without the Department and provide high standards of professional advice/opinions in relation to the service.
