The Position:

This is an incredible opportunity to work as a full time, permanent O&G Consultant at Tasmania's tertiary referral centre and major University teaching hospital.

Provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to a community that has approximately 6000 births per year.  

 

The department is an accredited training facility and thus you will be required to supervise Principal House Officers, Junior House Officers and Interns, Registrars and Provisional Fellows.

The Facility:

The 550 bed tertiary hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, employing over 3000 people.   It is accredited with ANZCA for 36 months and works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.  This means it constantly attracts great junior support. 

 

The hospital provides specialist services to a population of around 250,000 people and is the referral hospital for the region.  These include obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedics, psychiatry, urology and oncology and many other specialty areas.

 

Requirements:

Hold the FRANZCOG and be registered as a Specialist with AHPRA. Or be eligible for Specialist registration with AHPRA.  Doctors sitting the RANZCOG clinical examinations are also invited to apply.  

1.            FRANZCOG or, 

2.            IMGs with training assessed by RANZCOG and a substantially comparable outcome
