The Position:

This is an incredible opportunity to work as a full time, permanent Emergency Medicine Consultant at a major hospital in rural NSW. 

As part of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide emergency medical services to patients, as well as provide leadership to the medical members of the team, promote quality and safety, provide training, supervision and education for doctors in training and other health workers in collaboration with other consultants and the Head of Department.

Located in rural NSW, this location has a population of around 70,000 people and is known as the "Country Music Capital of Australia” as it hosts the largest country music festival in the southern hemisphere and attracts thousands of visitors each year.

In addition to its strong music culture, this city has a range of other amenities and attractions, including parks, museums, and galleries. It is also surrounded by beautiful countryside and is a gateway to the New England region, which has a rich agricultural history and is known for its natural beauty.

The Facility:

The 300-bed hospital is the biggest healthcare facility in NSW outside the Sydney-Wollongong-Newcastle metropolis. 

This hospital is accredited for ACEM training for 36 months which means it attracts great junior support.

The hospital provides specialist services to a population of around 70,000 people and is the referral hospital for the region.  These include general medicine, gastroenterology, mental health, kidney medicine, maternity, urology, orthopaedics and oncology and many other specialty areas.

Requirements:

1.            Fellowship or eligible for fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM) 

2.            Have experience working as an Emergency Medicine Staff Specialist
