Job description
Lead the tertiary clinical haematology service for the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service with a view to optimising patient outcomes and experience as well as the clinical governance processes, education and research. Lead and manage the provision of medical services in accordance with standards of the specialty and the ethics of the profession in hospital, community and outreach settings.
Work collaboratively across all departments, particularly with Queensland Pathology, Oncology and the division of Diagnostic and Sub-specialty Services as a member of the clinical team. Provide specialist expertise and advice for patients of all departments, in conjunction with the relevant surgical/medical specialists and the broader interdisciplinary team. The Medical Director will also work with Clinical Haematology Directors from other Queensland Hospital and Health Services as well as New South Wales local health districts in order to facilitate and improve the care of haematology patients.
