- Return flights for Dr’s and their families, accommodation and a hire car for the duration of their stay
- $300 Per Diem per week (including isolation weeks)
- 14 days paid isolation at $500.00 per day
The RDH Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides critical care to the Top End NT (population 200,000), and also the Kimberley Region from Kununurra to Broome. RDH is the forward receiving hospital for Northern Australia and plays a major role in disaster management in the region through the National Critical Care & Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC).
RDH ICU is a mixed Adult/Paediatric Level 3 ICU with 18 beds. In addition to paediatrics, the case mix includes sepsis, trauma, and neurosurgery. Annual admissions are around 1150 patients. The ICU Department employs 8 ICU Specialists, 1 ICU Fellow (inc. accreditation for CICM Transition Fellow Position), 7 ICU registrars and 5 ICU RMOs.
While open to all Fellows of the College of Intensive Care Medicine, this role will suit a recently trained CICM specialist who wishes to lay a solid clinical foundation to a career. You will require dedication and hard work to make the most of this opportunity in this sometimes demanding clinical role. In addition to clinical skills, you will have opportunities to develop in teaching, quality, and research. The successful candidate will also demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the principles of good cultural care.
