Location
One of Australia's oldest inland settlement. The city offers a pleasant country lifestyle with affordable housing, excellent public and private school education and a university.  There are plenty of shopping facilities, restaurants and cafes as well as arts and craft shops and the Art Gallery. A town with a good community feel and obviously a slower pace than the cities and affordable living. The region is conveniently located with effective transport links to Sydney and Canberra and two and a half hours drive from Sydney
 
What you'll be doing
An exciting opportunity exists for a Consultant Anaesthetist to join this existing team of Specialists. You will be expected to provide quality Anaesthetic services, clinical leadership and operational management of Anaesthetic services to the Health Service.
Your clinical responsibilities will include routine anaesthetic services; pre-admission anaesthetic assessment clinics, participation in the after-hours on-call service, obstetric epidural service and development of an acute pain service. There may be an opportunity to be involved in the Intensive Care Unit for an appropriately qualified individual.
 
The hospital

A modern campus with a full Perioperative Suite, including 4 Operating Theatres (incorporating Endoscopy), Day Surgery and recently installed complete new digital anaesthetic machines and patient monitors. The Maternity Unit sees approximately 500 births per year. Surgical Services include general surgery, orthopaedic (elective) surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, urology and ophthalmology. There is a 7 bed combined ICU/HDU/CCU which supports complex surgery.
 
To be suitable for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:  
You are an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident who has current authority to practice as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for same, and holds a Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists or specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance act 1973 relevant practice as a Specialist Anaesthetist.
