Principal House Officer - COVID Vaccination Clinic

Overview:

A Northern Queensland Health Service are seeking a locum doctor, Principal House Officer (PGY4+) to staff their mobile vaccination clinic. Based predominantly out of one site, you will also be expected to work across multiple sites such as Lotus Glen, Mt Garnet, Lynde, and others in the region to deliver the COVID vaccine to eligible.

Level: PHO/ Principal House Officer
Area: General Medicine/ ED
Location: Northern QLD
Rate: $140/hour
Date Range: 30/07/21 – Ongoing (Hospital willing to consider 4 week blocks).
Roster: Approx. 3-4 6-hr shifts per week.  
Hours: Mon – Fri, 0800 – 2000. Weekends, 0800 – 1630.

Additional Comments:

• Team consists of a Principal House Officer accompanied by a team of nurses. The doctor is to act as the first responder should there be any issues when administering the vaccine. 
• You will have an accommodation allowance of $120/night, when travelling off-site, you will either be based in local accommodation (motels etc) or hospital accommodation depending on availability.
• Some of the accommodation facilities will have kitchens, but if not, use of the fleet vehicle, and the mobile van will be permitted to access shops (although the accommodation is usually situated close to shops).
• Travel time between sites will count as work hours and will be paid. 

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this position, applicant must have:

• ALS
• General Registration with AHPRA.
