2019 Rotations available in Surgical Specialties, Echuca, Emergency, Medical Specialties, Relief.

Bendigo Health is the regional referral and trauma center for a region that extends from Woodend to southern NSW and is committed to delivering world class healthcare to our community.

There is emphasis on a practical, hands on approach to junior doctor training and we aim to foster excellent clinical exposure across a range of specialties. 

The new Bendigo Hospital opened in January 2017 and is the largest regional hospital development in Victoria. It is delivering a world-class regional hospital incorporating the latest design and technology solutions, in a tranquil and caring environment.

The new facilities include 372 inpatient beds, 72 same-day beds, 11 new operating theatres, a regional cancer center, an 80-bed integrated mental health facility, a mother-and-baby unit, a helipad and parking for 1350 vehicles.

Bendigo Health is seeking motivated staff to help the organization progress excellence in clinical care as we transition within our new exciting hospital. 

The General HMO stream is designed to flexibly deliver career pathways for junior doctors. HMOs may be able to choose from any of the available hospital rotations to develop careers in surgery, medicine, general practice or other specialties.  Rotations essential to develop your HMO career are negotiated and guaranteed with the offer of contract.

At least one external rotation or relief term will be allocated to each General Hospital Medical Officer.

Essential:
01.Current General registration with AHPRA (at this stage this is a must)
02. Full Working Rights to work in Australia
03.Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients
04.Thorough understanding of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers 
05.High level interpersonal and communication skills 
06.Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently (under supervision).
******Candidates will ideally have minimum 12 months’ Australian or UK experience****
